Athlete Spotlight – Erik Stanley

Erik has been coaching and training in Austin for nearly 10 years.  As a high-school standout, he ranked #1 in the miler nationally his senior year after his 4:04 mile finish. Erik, ranked 8th best high school distance runner on the Texas All-Time list, worked at an outdoor summer camp in Colorado through high school where he found is love for the trails. After high school, he attended The University of Texas where he was an All-American in the 1500M run. In 2013, he finished 4th in the USATF Trail 100k Championships. Erik holds multiple course records from the road to the trail. He found his passion by helping others achieve their goals and has coached hundreds of runners who have inspired him to continue to pursue his own goals in running and in life.

Trail Roots™ was created by Erik Stanley to support the growing Austin trail-running community. Trail Roots™ emerged to provide focused and customized training for all levels of runners in a guided and safe environment. New runners are provided with marked and supervised trail runs and run workouts each week. For the intermediate or competitive runner you also get to work one-on-one with Erik to create a custom schedule tailored to your specific goals and individual needs. You are also provided with direct feedback during your workouts.
